Each piece is made up of many macro photographs: images of nature, which the artist captures on digital film and subsequently arranges in patterns to portray a larger image. Most of the individual photos hail from BC, but the collections also include images from her extensive travels worldwide.

The idea to do collages with the pictures came from seeing the cohesion of every image with the other:

“I wanted to honour each image individually, but the idea of connecting them to make another whole represents how I feel about us, and nature, and really the world. As a child, I never knew how to document and express how I saw the world; this digital technology has offered me the opportunity to do just that.

Having complete control, from seeing the natural object, to framing the photo, to printing it out, to puzzling over piecing it together with many others to form another complete entity, to pasting the images down and finally framing the piece, is both time consuming and immensely satisfying.”
